MORTONS' NEUROMA/ TOE

What is Morton's Neuroma?

Morton's Neuroma is a painful condition affecting the ball of your foot. It occurs when the tissue around one of the nerves leading to your toes thickens. This thickening can cause a sharp, burning pain in the foot.

What causes Morton's Neuroma?

The exact cause of Morton's Neuroma is unknown, but several factors may contribute to its development:

 -Tight-fitting shoes, especially high heels

-Excessive foot pressure, such as from being overweight or engaging in high-impact activities

 -Foot structure abnormalities

What are symptoms of Morton's Neuroma?

-Sharp, shooting, or burning pain in the ball of your foot

-Feeling like there is a pebble or lump stuck under your foot

-Numbness or tingling in the toes

-Pain that worsens when wearing tight or narrow shoes

What are the treatments?

There are various effective treatment methods for Mortons' Neuroma:

-Rest and ice: Elevating your foot and applying ice packs can help reduce swelling and pain.

-Over-the-counter pain relievers: Medications like ibuprofen or naproxen can alleviate discomfort.

-Shoe modifications: Wearing wider, more comfortable shoes with good arch support can help .

 * Orthotic devices: Custom-made orthotics can redistribute pressure on the foot.
