What is a Fungal Nail?
A Fungal Nail is when there is fungal infection in the nail; this is known as Onychomycosis and is a very common nail infection which can be stubborn to treat.
What can you do?
Most commonly, this is treated using over the counter (OTC) treatments which are easily available in various forms such as sprays, nail lacquers and ointments to name a few. However, most of these are all topical treatments.
What can we do?
The limitation of these OTC treatments is not only the length of time needed to treat the nail but also the fact that they do not penetrate into the nail and do not reach the nail bed where the infection lies and needs treating. This is where the Fenestration/Lacuna method comes in to play.
