Corns and calluses

What are Corns & Calluses?

Corns and calluses are thick, hardened areas of skin that develop from repeated friction or pressure. They commonly occur on the hands and feet. While they're usually harmless, corns and calluses can become painful if left untreated.

What causes Corns & Calluses?

Corns & Calluses are usually caused by the following:

 -Ill-fitting shoes

-Repetitive hand motions

-Not wearing socks with shoes

If untreated, they can cause pain and discomfort around the area.

What can you do?

 -Wear well-fitting shoes

-Use padding

-Soak and gently remove hardened skin

-Moisturise regularly

What can we do?

-Our podiatrists, using a scalpel, will enucleate the corns and debride the callus, relieving pain.
